Whooo's Reading is a new program I would like to introduce during the 2015-2016 school year. Each child has been assigned an account and given a user login and password. You can access the program with internet access from a computer at home, or at the the local library. Click the picture to the left to login.
Whooo's Reading allows students to log reading time from home. It is highly recommended children read or are read to for 20 minutes each day. This not only enhances skills in reading, language, memory, and organization, but also increases social skills and meaningful bonding with parent or other adult. By participating in the Whooo's Reading program your child can see reading as a benefit as he or she earns coins in the system. The coins are redeemed in the "store" for additional items to enhance their "Owlvatar."
In my Whooo's Reading Teacher's Page, I can view what books students are reading as well as how many minutes have been read. Students are also able to answer questions about what they read and post to our class page.
I am hoping this will encourage recording your child's reading at home and encourage comprehension skills so important to our 4th Grade work. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions, or if you would like your child's login information.
